We believe every human being, irrespective of gender, race or nationality is a mine rich in gems of inestimable value waiting to be revealed and shared for the benefit of humanity. One of the greatest gifts we have as human beings is understanding. Our eyesight is the chief instrument whereby our understanding can function. By providing clear vision to the visually impaired in low-income countries, we can help release enormous potential for all societies and for future generations.
The aspiration of TwoBillionEyes Foundation is to ENABLE PEOPLE TO MAKE MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTIONS. Two Billion Eyes USA, Inc is the tax-exempt 501(c)3 fundraising organization supporting the projects of the TwoBillionEyes Foundation.
1,000,000,000 people in the world suffer from insufficient eyesight that can be remedied by wearing a pair of eyeglasses. 90% of those would benefit from having glasses, live in low income countries.
Why do so many people go without glasses?
Price: hundreds of millions of people simply cannot afford glasses.
Eye-examination: there simply are not enough optometrists available to perform sight testing and diagnosis locally.
Logistics: reaching the target audience in remote areas is a big challenge.
TwoBillionEyes Foundation is registered in the Netherlands and collaborates with established NGOs, Optichange bv and social enterprises to assist with the production and distribution of affordable eyeglasses.
TwoBillionEyes selects and trains local people in developing countries to become Vision Collaborators who can perform simple eye-examinations and assemble the glasses independently.

At Two Billion Eyes USA we believe a better world begins when you can see clearly. After years of research, we have found a solution to give everyone access to clear vision.
We first train local vision collaborators and then equip them with our vision toolbox that houses: all the instruments needed for a proper vision test (includes a smartphone based tool), all necessary parts to assemble 150 pairs of glasses and the tooling for assembly and adjustment of the glasses.
Our toolbox can be used anywhere in the world without the need for electricity or expensive equipment.
